NELA Pride is a nonprofit organization that was founded in Monroe, Louisiana in 2023 to celebrating and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community in Northeast Louisiana (NELA).

Our mission is to improve and enrich the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals in NELA through positivity, visibility, community outreach, and connecting resources and allies. We host events, provide resources, and create safe spaces for all.

NELA Pride is overseen by a Board of Directors. All of us are volunteers and we plan community events, advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, manage and allocate funds, work with other non-profits and businesses that are LGBTQIA+ founded or friendly, and generally ensure the organization’s mission and goals are achieved.

Most events are family-friendly and respectful to all. If an event is intended for adults only, it will be clearly advertised as such.

In addition to our annual festival, we host various events, workshops, and support groups throughout the year. We also collaborate with other organizations to provide resources and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community.

Volunteering opportunities are available year-round. We are always looking for folks who want to jump in and help us grow. If you have something you are passionate about, let us know!

Donations can be made through our website on the DONATE page. Your contributions help us continue our work in supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

Donated funds are overseen and allocated by our Board of Directors. These funds are used for a variety of purposes, such as hosting queer-inclusive events, creating safe space programs, and supporting ongoing advocacy efforts.

NELA Pride: The Festival is an annual event. The second annual festival took place on June 29, 2024. Future dates and locations will be announced on our website and social media channels.

Safety is our top priority. We work closely with local law enforcement and have trained security personnel on-site. Additionally, we provide first aid stations and have a clear code of conduct to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
